03 Mar Morning walk in Kennedy Town, with Alan & Elaine (Hong Kong)
Alan & Elaine, two of the kindest people I think I’ve ever met, got married last December. We spent a beautiful morning here in Alan’s birthplace, Kennedy Town of Hong Kong, before their big day.
We arrived in Hong Kong two days before their wedding and had a day of free time before their wedding ceremony. Alan & Elaine wanted to have an engagement portrait; however, things didn’t turn out as we planned. Many places we had in mind and booked for shooting were close for visiting, because of the on-going protests in Hong Kong.
Being optimistic, Alan & Elaine then suggested, as it was my first visit to Hong Kong, why don’t they walk me around the streets of Kennedy Town, where Alan grew up, and shoot as we go. It sounded an excellent plan to me.
We spent a beautiful morning roaming around the Kennedy Township. We headed to the pier for the stunning sea and cityscape view and continued to the familiar streets and steps like the Hong Kong dramas we used to watch. After that, we enjoyed a short break at a local Cha Chaan Teng (Cantonese style tea restaurant) for tasty milk tea with buns and finally took the double-deck tram back to the hotel. It was incredibly fun!
Instead of having a portrait session, it turned out to be Alan & Elaine touring me around, such sweet souls.
Thank you again for giving me the honour of making some beautiful images while showing me Hong Kong. 😀
